Who am I?

I'm from Houston, a graduate of the University of Texas, a fan of the Houston Astros and Houston Texans. But this blog will be about the "greater sports", whatever that means.

Sportsman of the Week Ending 2/28/2016

The Sportsman of the Week this week is leading his Golden State Warriors to be perhaps the Team of the Century, if not best team in history (as they assault the Chicago Bulls record of 72 wins in a single season).  Despite doubters and critics (that include former NBA legends), All-world Stephen Curry simply cannot be stopped.  The reigning MVP averaged 44 points per game over a 4-game winning streak.  More impressive, he's averaging over a point per minute played; he was on the bench at least 12 minutes of all four games, a full quarter.  Further, in the epic OT win on Saturday night against the rival Oklahoma City Thunder, he broke his own single season record for 3-pointers in a season (288 and counting), became the first player ever to have back-to-back games of 10 3-pointers or more (10 and 12), and tied for most 3-pointers in a game (12).  During the week, he also broke the record of consecutive games with a 3-pointer (129).  And yes, he ended the game with what to most people would be a miracle 3-pointer, but frankly was just within his range at 37 feet.  You cannot deny he is the best player in the game, and certainly our Sportsman of the Week!
